Lee Slater, EA, CFP®, MBA, CDFA is a knowledgeable and experienced financial professional accountant in New York who advises individuals, families, and small business owners on all aspects of their personal finances.
Lee is the President of Popular Tax, Inc., a 65+ year old financial and tax firm in New York City that prepares over 1,000 tax returns annually. He has nearly 20 years of tax experience as an accountant in the New York area, and has worked with a variety of individuals including governmental and union workers, teachers, artists and actors, self-employed business owners, lawyers, and doctors. Besides preparing a variety of tax returns, Lee is an Enrolled Agent (EA), authorized by the Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the IRS on all tax-related matters, including audits, collections, appeals, and unfiled returns.
Lee’s financial expertise goes beyond taxes and accounting in New York. He earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP) designation. Lee has worked as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and has specialized knowledge and experience in helping individuals and couples work through financial issues during the process of divorce. He has written numerous articles on divorce for publications and has spoken at many divorce workshops throughout the metropolitan New York area. Lee earned an MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business, and a BS in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is married and the father of two children. Raising his own children in New York City has given Lee experience in developing effective strategies that families can use to manage expenses.
